Junior Crew Overview
Middle school is a great time to give rowing a try and a White Rock Rowing Summer Camp is a fun way to get started. But you don’t have to wait for summer because if the weather isn’t conducive to being out on the water, there’s always indoor conditioning.
The rowing year is divided into four main seasons, Fall Competitive, Winter Conditioning, Spring Competitive and Summer Racing. Join at the start of any season and enjoy time on and off the water with others interested in learning the sport.
What’s rowing all about?
Rowing is the oldest intercollegiate sport in the U.S. and has been called the Ultimate Team Sport. It’s a life sport and any one at any age can participate. And you can choose your level of involvement. Whether you opt to compete, row to stay in shape or simply enjoy gliding across the water, rowing is fun and beneficial.
Rowing with White Rock
White Rock Rowing is a club program open to anyone from any school. We currently have about 70 rowers from 19 public and private schools throughout the Dallas area and we compete against other regional and national teams. Our goal? The national championships.
We are a diverse group and share a sense of community and team spirit. We appreciate and encourage one another and take pride in the program and in our amazing Big Boathouse. It’s White Rock Lake’s only boathouse and ranks among the biggest in the entire country.
Stop by and say “Hi”
Stop by, meet our coaches and rowers and see what a practice is like! During the school year we gather at the Big Boathouse starting about 4:30PM. During the summer, we are on the water bright and early.
