Singles, oars, and colored bands

And now, an update. If you haven’t already figured it out, there have been a few changes at the boathouse:

  • All club singles are now stored bow in.
  • There are large numbers on the boathouse doors in front of each club boat, which let you know which boat goes where. Please replace the boat in its correct slot when you come back from a row.
  • All club oars have two yellow bands. If you’re rowing a club boat, use these oars only.
  • Club boats have colored tape on the riggers that match up with the color coded bumpers on each side of the docks, visible from the lake side. These colors will help you find the right dock on busy days.

Try something new - row a Wintech double

While the Wintech single is out of commission, Sam is allowing club members to reserve and row his Wintech double. If you haven’t rowed a double, grab a fellow club member and try it out! It’s a lot of fun, and the Wintech double is very stable.

Important: please contact Sam or Ginger for some special launching and docking instructions before heading out the first time.

24s rerigged

Boathouse Captain Mike Wilson says that he has rerigged our three Maas 24 sculls.

24A is for the lighter folks among us.

24B is for us big people.

24C is somewhere in the middle.

Try ‘em. Find the one you like best.

Remember: row the boat you reserve.

New Maas 24

Boathouse Captain Mike Wilson reports…

With little fanfare, we are now introducing a brand spankin’ new Maas 24 to our fleet of club-owned boats. Two short years ago our shared boat inventory was a couple of Maas Aeros. We’ve grown to the point where we now need three Maas 24s to keep the reservation board from backing up. Sam has her rigged and in the House, so get out there and enjoy the beautiful summer rowing.maas 24.jpg

For those of you keeping score, here’s a link to a complete inventory of the Boathouse shared boats.
