2006 Head of the Oklahoma

September 30 through October 1

From Mike Knopp, Regatta Director:

Hello everyone-

We hope you are making plans to join us for the 2006 Head of the Oklahoma in Oklahoma City September 30-October 1.  This year’s event is shaping up to become one of the premier events in the nation with over 30,000 spectators planned and over 1,000 athletes.  While this has been a popular college event, we are working to make this a premier junior and masters regatta as well, with many improvements in store for this year.

In addition to the 2.5 mile head race, the regatta will feature the first night racing in America with 500 meter super sprints.  We will have a professional timing system, jumbo tron, and many additional features to that make this event truly unique.  The US National Team Men’s and Women’s 8s will also be present.

Registration is now open at www.regattacentral.com - we hope to see you in OKC to join us in this historic and competitive event!

Pumpkin Head of the Colorado Regatta, October 28, 2006

A favorite of the Boathouse, this event is held around Halloween each year by the Austin Rowing Club. The weather is great and the competition friendly.

Check the official site of the regatta for details. (But the site has not been updated for 2006 yet.)
