Rowing With Heart...

Our focus on promoting rowing for all includes outreach that puts oars and opportunity in the hands of people who otherwise would not experience the sport we’re so passionate about.

White Rock Rowing is part of White Rock Boathouse, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization comprised of one of the country’s largest boathouses, a historic 1930s-era boat slip and The Filter Building, a popular event venue. Together, the facilities comprise an active rowing hub on White Rock Lake, where doors are open to everyone, from first-timers to seasoned masters.

Adaptive Rowing

Adaptive Rowing is in Dallas and on White Rock Lake.

Mary Condon has established our program at White Rock Lake with the help of the US Paralympic office and USRowing.

Summer Adaptive Classes - see details here

The program has started with a bang and we are excited to be offering the program to any area person with a physical disability.

Adaptive Rowers can be parapalegic, loss of limbs, blind, and many other disabilities qualify.  The only thing you need is a Positive Mental Attitude.  So give it a try and feel the freedom of being on the water.  The program consists of land based Indoor Rower workouts as well as on water sessions based on the athletes interests and comfort level.  Indoor rowing has a huge world wide following and the on water opportunities to race locally, regionally and nationally are very exciting.

If you or someone you know loves the water and is somehow disabled we would like to hear from you.  Please contact the Masters Program Coordinator and your information will be shared with Mary on how best to get started.

Summer 2013 Adaptive Classes are now Ready to Row!

Coach Mary has set up Adaptive Erging and Sculling on the sign up page.  A Rower may purchase each program for $50 and will have access to 10 sessions with a coach.

OUR PROGRAM is YOUR PROGRAM

Meet Jason Morgan and his dog Nepal. Jason is the first member of our adaptive rowing program which Mary Condon is coordinating with the National Paralypics Committee.  Jason is a super-jock who has placed well at the CRASH B’s and has completed several marathons. He will race the Marine Corps Marathon in 2012.  Mary Condon, pictured with Jason, is a Dallas physical therapist with over 20 years experience who is devoting her time to develop this program.

Please introduce yourself to Jason, Nepal, and Mary. You will be seeing Jason and other Wounded Warriors around the Boathouse as the program grows.
Let me or Mary know if you have an interest in helping with the program.
